In The Loop January 2019
Welcome to the first In the Loop of 2019, dedicated to the Astrological Association's annual conference.
Our 51st Annual Conference will take place from 14th to 16th of June and, this year we are returning to Wyboston Lakes. The conference centre has been completely refurbished with new menus the usual state of the art facilities. However, book soon. We have a record number of bookings and the venue is almost full. When it fills up, we shall only be able to offer day attendance; however, there are several hotels nearby.
The conference starts on Friday 14th with a selection of pre-conference workshops. The main conference opens on Friday evening and the first plenary is from Garry Phillipson. Garry is talking about the concept of intuition when reading a chart, a topic he has been studying for a number of years. In this article he gives us a taste of what to expect.
In 2017 the AA held a student essay competition. Out of the many excellent entries, one essay stood out from the crowd - that submitted by Alejo López. This year we are delighted to have Alejo as a conference speaker for the first time and his topic is Millennials. Alejo outlines the background to his talk in his article.
Another first-time speaker is Nick Oakely-Smith. Nick runs the successful Bath Astrology Group and has also dabbled in the I Ching. His talk at the conference has the intriguing title of 'The Chart as the Interference Pattern that is Creating our Hologram'. In his article he explains what it is about.
I hope to meet many of you at the conference. However, if you cannot attend in person, you can attend online. Details of the pre-conference workshop available online, and the online conference track, will be included in future issues of In the Loop.
